Italian Christmas Cookies



*Ingredients

+Cookies
°4 eggs
°1 cup of sugar
°½ cup of butter
°2 tbsp. vanilla
°3½ cup flour
°4 teaspoons baking powder
+icing
°2 cups sifted icing sugar
°2 tbsp. vanilla
°6 tbsp. the water

*Methods:

+Cookies
In bowl, sifting flour and baking powder, set apart.
In  bowl, cream butter & sugar.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla. Add the flour mixture.
Knead until dough is firm and not sticky, adding more flour if needed.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Cut a small amount of dough and roll out on a floured surface into 6-inch strips.
Twist into shape and place on greased cookie sheets.
Baking at 375 degrees for 8-10 min
Remove cookies to wire rack and let cool completely before frosting.
+icing
Mix frosting ingredients in a bowl until just smooth. You want it thicker than thin, but still runny.
Dip the tops of the cooled cookies in the frosting, then return to the rack, letting the frosting drip down the sides of the cookie.
Top with sprinkles while frosting is still moist.
